به گزارش ایرنا بر اساس اعلام روز یكشنبه دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی، هفدهمین اجلاس شورای اجرایی اتحادیه دانشگاههای جهان اسلام كه دومین روز برگزاری خود را پشت سر می گذراند، در دانشگاه 'نایف' عربستان تشكیل یافت.

در این اجلاس دو روزه، مسایل روز جهان اسلام، نقاط قوت و ضعف عملكرد اتحادیه مورد بحث و تبادل نظر قرار گرفت.

نمایندگان دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی، دانشگاه 'یو.تی.ام' مالزی و دانشگاه قدس فلسطین با به چالش كشیدن نحوه عملكرد شورای اجرایی، اعضای آن را به فعالیت بیشتر در حل مشكلات آموزش عالی در جهان اسلام دعوت كرده و همچنین در حل مشكلات جوامع اسلامی در زمینه های اقتصادی، اجتماعی و سیاسی بحث و گفت وگو كردند.

در این اجلاس، گزارش های مربوط به پیشرفت پروژه دانشگاه مجازی اسلامی، كیفیت آموزش در دانشگاه های كشورهای اسلامی، همكاری های علمی بین اعضای اتحادیه، پروژه های استراتژیكی، ایجاد مركز آموزش دوره ای برای اساتید علوم دینی و زبان عربی و همچنین تشكیل دوره های مشترك و تبادل استاد و دانشجو و برنامه های درسی مشترك بین اعضای اتحادیه مورد بررسی و تبادل نظر قرار گرفت.

رییس دانشگاه 'یو.تی.ام' مالزی نیز پیشنهاد كرد جلسه بعدی شورای اجرایی اتحادیه دانشگاه های جهان اسلام در این مركز دانشگاهی برگزار شود.

طرح ایجاد اتحادیه دانشگاههای جهان اسلام (اف.یو.ای.دبیلو)، در دسامبر 1987 میلادی (1366 هجری شمسی) در شهر رباط با شركت 30 عضو سازمان كنفرانس اسلامی به تصویب رسید.

شورای اجرایی اتحادیه كه مهمترین ركن این اتحادیه است، دارای 15 عضو است و در حال حاضر بیش از 200 دانشگاه به عضویت این اتحادیه درآمده اند.

شورای اجرایی این اتحادیه سالی یكبار در یكی از كشورهای عضو تشكیل جلسه می دهد و طول هر دوره شورا سه سال تعیین شده كه دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی تاكنون سه دوره متوالی ریاست این شورا را در اختیار داشته است.
